World Cup 2006........... No more

The competition is over. No more wake up in the early morning to watch Ronaldinho, and Ronaldo. No more exciting opening game with beautiful goals from emerging youngsters Philip Lahm. No more discussion on how Argentinian’s 23 passing before they scored the goals. No more surprising games from African country like Ghana with Michael Essien. No more dramatic moment of early exit from team favorites England with Wayne Rooney being sent-off. No more surprises from Asian country like Korea and Japan. No more mistake from referee who shows yellow card three times. No more controversial game when both team ended with 9 mans and 16 yellow cards. No more penalty shoot-out to determine the winners. No more spiderman mask who celebrated the goals.

Yes it is no more. World Cup 2006 is over. Italy is the winner after they knocked-out France in penalty shootout 5-3. Sadly, the candidate of the best player, Zinedine Zidane has lost his emotion to butt head on Materazzi’s chest. Dramatic ending for the best mid-fielder in the world. Let us remember him as the best player during France vs Spain games.

The most exciting competition is over. We need to wait four more years to feels the excitement all over the world once again. Till we meet again in World Cup 2010 in South Africa…….

Review: Superman Return

Watching Superman Returns bring me back to a memory in my childhood, when we watched Superman movie with my sisters. Yes, Superman is a legend that will bring back our imagination and memory (for those who lived on those era). Although Brandon Routh will not be able to replace legend Chistopher Reeve, but overall his acting is good. The action is good, however with more and more action movie like Matrix, Star Wars, X-Men, I expected more on Superman. The fact that he has a son, can be a good topic if they can explore more. Audience need more human perspective on our super hero. Maybe Lane thesis on "Why the world does not need a Superman" is true. But still this movie is recommended.
