A Key to Success....

A wise and wealthy man tell me about his secret to success in life. He mentioned 6 points:
1. Knowledge
2. Relationship
3. Character
4. Decision Making
5. Luck
6. Age

For me there is one more important thing that should be no. 1: Spirituality. As "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom". We will have knowledge, relationship, character, decision making, (luck) if we are stong in our walk with Him.

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" - Math 6:33

Money is not everything... Really...

There are two news that are very interesting last week:

1. Gates to leave day-to-day work at Microsoft
Bill gates as the richest man in the world, decided to leave Microsoft and work as a full time in Bill and Melinda foundation, which focuses on global health and education. I am not Gates fan, instead I am not agree to their expansion and monopoly strategy in software world. However, I am going to salute them now, when they decided to give the money back to society.

2. Buffet gives away his fortune
The second richest man in he world will start giving away 85% of his wealth, most of it to Bill and Melinda foundation. Again we saw a demonstration of a very wealthy man who is not bound to his wealth.

I am not in the position to comment, but I must said that I salute them on their decision to give back to societies. Are they going to be poor and lack? No, in fact they will be richer, as it is said "Give and it will come back to you, good measure pressed down, shaken together, running over."

So near.............. yet so far...

Have you ever had situation when everything is so near, but in split second everything become so far. For example, you have been promised to be involve in ERP implementation in your company, but then your company decided to outsource or send the team from corporate office to do that. Or you have been successfully go through first interview for a new job, but then turned down by second interview. Believe me, it is not a good feeling.

I had been in this situation in this couple week. It is something that you saw a good fruit from the tree, but when when you tried to pluck it, someone snap it away. Manage expectation, that's the right word. If you never been promised to be involve, perhaps you will not disappointed when they outsource the project. When you did not go through first interview, then you will not so turned down by second interview.

I have a friend last time in high school. He never expect to have a good result in his exam. So if he got a good result he will be happy. If not he also still happy. I guess, this will not be the same for any overachiever. When I thought about it, BALANCE is still the key. To manage expectation, does not mean that we lower down our expectation, but it also does not mean we expect to high. Isn't it faith is all about?? Expect produce hope, hope produce faith... No expectation means no hope and no faith...(am i got a right conclusion)

Have you had this experience?

"Winner is not someone who never fail, but someone who never quit"
