Lesson of Faith

Faith is the art of holding on to things your reason has accepted, in spite of your changing mood - CS Lewis

Our IT Department has a meeting in Antwerp, Belgium next week. We've been told this news about month ago. We are really excited about it as we never go to Europe before.

One thing that I do not know, that it take time to apply for Belgium visa. As Indonesian working in Singapore, I've been told that the process can take up 2-3 week.

I have submitted my application a week ago and wait for the result. On Monday I tried to call to Belgium embassy in Singapore, but they said is still in process. My mood start changing despite of the reason that I know that God will take care. Tuesday morning I tried to called again, they said still in process. So I tried to call directly to Belgium embassy and they told me that they can not found my application. They even discourage me and said it will take about 3-4 week for approval. They explained that they need courier to send the application back and forth manually. There is two voice in my heart, one said that everything will be alright, the other said I will not make it. It is really the art on holding on when the circumstances seems againts you. That night I prayed for miracle, when we've done everything we can do and nothing we can do anymore, only Him can do miracle.

This morning, I decided not to call the embassy. Frankly speaking I have doubt whether I can go or not. But I have peace in my heart that it does not matter whether I go or not, most important thing is what I can learn from this experience. The evidence seem all againts me and today we need to confirm our flight ticket.

I send email around 12 to my travel agent that I still wait for my visa and ask him to confirm the flight ticket for my colleague. Then miracle happened, around 3pm Belgium embassy called me and told me that my visa has been approved and ready for collection. Glory to God. Yes, I've learned from this experience that our God is faithful, do your best and God will do the rest. In every experience, there is always something that we can learn to mould us and shape our character to more and more like Him. It is one thing to heard someone testimony about their lesson of faith, it is the other thing to experience it by yourself.

The last practical point that I learn is, its take time to apply for visa, so be prepared....

Great to hear a story of people trusting in God regardless of the outcome. I used to pray every morning for a "good" day, now I just pray for a "good" attitude regardless of what the day brings.
Have a good time in Europe
